Out and about

It's been a little tough being stuck inside with the not so nice weather so we were super excited to take advantage of the dry and slightly warmer weather we had last weekend.

First up, testing out the jogging stroller now that Claire's finally old enough.  Daddy and I are planning on doing the Broad Street Run together this year so we were excited to see how Claire would like running with us since she'll likely be stuck going for long runs on saturdays during our training.  The stroller looked pretty comfy to start....
And it must've been because the little nugget fell asleep before we even got to the jogging trail.  She didn't wake up until we were walking back onto our street.  She missed the whole run!  Maybe she'll stay awake and enjoy the ride next time.

Aunt Mary and Claire's buddy Winnie came for a visit over the weekend.  Winnie and Claire checking each other out...
Winnie and Claire checking Aunt Mary out...
And Claire spotting a camera...
We took Winnie to the dog park for a little bit on Saturday afternoon since it was so nice out.
The dog park is conveniently located right next to the playground so we stopped by the swings to see how Claire would like them.  "Are you ready mom?"
 Here goes.
 "I don't know about this."
 "Maybe it's not so bad."
"Not so bad at all :)"
She had a ball...and kept kicking her legs all around.
 And yapping of course.
And stopping to smile for the camera.
This one's my favorite.
On Sunday, we took the little lady out for some brunch at Sidecar.  She was really excited when she saw the menu.
And happy she got to hang with Aunt Mary some more.
Love that sweet little face :)
After brunch, we headed up to Aunt Jenn's.  Claire had some fun with Paige...don't let this picture fool you...I swear they both were smiling.
There were lots of new faces there.  Claire had a little case of the crankies when we first got there but quickly cheered up and made some new friends.

It was a great weekend!  We're hoping this nice weather continues so we can spend some more time outside.

Happy Birthday Maddie! (and Flyers Round 2)

Last weekend Claire got to go to her first birthday party...for her big cousin Maddie.  She had lots of fun hanging out with Nana...
And Aunt Colleen & Uncle Chad...
And all of her cousins.
We sang happy birthday to the newest 4 year old.
And watched her blow out her candles.
While hanging out with big cousin Erin.
After cupcakes, Claire helped Maddie open some presents.
Mostly because she wanted to eat all of the paper and boxes.
Then she had a few laughs with Uncle Chad.
Before we got all bundled up and ready to head home.
First birthday party a success.  Happy Birthday Maddie!  We love you!

Last week we also got to take Claire to her second Flyers game.  It was REALLY cold on our way there.
Claire must've forgot about the last game we went to because she couldn't get over all of the people.
 Woah.
Once inside, Claire was amazed yet again by all of the lights on the big TV.  I seriously don't think she blinked for a whole minute.
Finally distracted her.
She had lots of fun with Mommy & Daddy (please ignore my huge face and big bags under my eyes...guess someone needs more sleep).
It was the first time Claire was out past her bedtime since Savannah (and we all know how well she did with that ha) so we were a little nervous she might have a breakdown but luckily, she was a doll baby.  She made it all the way to the middle of the 3rd period when the Flyers were losing 3-0 (I think Daddy was more ready to leave than Claire).  Still happy as a clam when we were leaving at 9:30pm....guess Claire doesn't mind staying up late for the Flyers :)

Laid back weekend...kind of

Last weekend was the first one in quite some time where we didn't travel or stay overnight anywhere.  It was a nice relaxing weekend at home....although Claire was still a busy bee.  She's learning more and more every single day.  You can just see the wheels turning in her head as she's trying new things all the time.  It's so much fun to watch.

She still loves chewing on everything in sight...
And talking tons...
But she's also spending more time PLAYING in her exersaucer....and not just chewing it.  The little brown castle has a wheel on it that she spins over and over again.
 She just loves it.
She's still not a big fan of tummy time but she has mastered the roll over from belly to back (probably b/c she hates being on her tummy so much :)).  She first rolled over when we were at Aunt Mary's in NYC over  a month ago but was only doing it every once in a while (probably only 6-7 times over the month) until very recently.  Over the past couple of days, she easily turns over every single time we tease her with a toy.
If you place it just out of reach...
 Or next to her...
"Are you ready mom?  I'm gonna do it."
 She rolls right over :)
Besides rolling over, Claire also started standing up on her own with only the help from the ottoman.  I really can't believe these pictures...I'm still in shock she's growing so fast!
Not only does she stand, but she's coordinated enough to reach and grab for stuff while doing so.
 Bottles are her favorite.

Another milestone reached this weekend....Claire's first meal consisting of solid food (rice cereal).  She was so excited when we put her in her highchair...she knew something delicious was coming.

 Her first spoonful...
She wasn't sure at first...
But didn't take long to realize she loved it.

Love this face.
She wanted to feed herself after only a few spoonfuls.
Her love of grabbing and chewing things has made it really hard to read to her lately.  She just wants to eat the pages of the books instead of look at them.

Even though we didn't really do anything this weekend, it was still super eventful for our little smiley pants.

 Nighty night :)
