Congested Cutie

Claire has somehow managed to avoid getting sick over the past 6 months...until now.  It started with a runny nose over a week ago.  The drippy boogs didn't seem to bother her at all really but they have since moved into her chest as of last weekend.  The poor little thing has been coughing left and right.  She didn't let that ruin her weekend though.  We headed down to our favorite place for a little getaway, the shore.

We took it easy and laid by the fire Friday night.

Saturday, we took a walk on the boards.  The weather was absolutely gorgeous so we had to swing by the beach for a few pics.

Claire didn't even seem to notice she was sitting in sand.  All she wanted to do was play with her boots.

All of the picture taking must've tired Claire out.  She just about fell asleep on Daddy's head on the way home.

Hopefully our little congested cutie feels better soon.  The sound of her mucus-y cough followed by her little cry because it hurts is just heart breaking.  

Happy Valentine's Day

Thanks to pinterest I've been wanting to try all sorts of crafts and DIYs.  I knew I wanted to do something cute for Valentine's Day from Claire and once I saw this...I figured it was perfect.

I got some blank cards and crayola washable paints from ac moore, painted Happy Valentine's Day on the front, and got the little one ready for her painting debut.

First, we brushed some hot pink paint on her little hand...she was surprisingly cooperative.

Then came the hard part.  Opening that little hand and trying to lay it flat on the cards.  You wouldn't believe how strong a 6 month old can be.

The first few cards we tried definitely weren't the prettiest.  But she started getting the hang of it after only a few so you could actually tell we were stamping handprints and not just blobs of paint.

Unfortunately, I underestimated the size of her hands...so instead of cute little flowers we just got hands...oopsy...maybe we'll get flowers next year :)

I included a cute little pic of her making the card on the inside.

Needless to say, we got a little messy.

But it was a lot of fun (don't worry there's no paint on that brush).

Happy Half Birthday!

Claire has passed the halfway point of her first year.  She's officially 6 months old!

Her official stats are:

Height: 27.25 inches (90th percentile)

Weight: 16.19 lbs (45th percentile)

(I forgot her head measurement...oops!)

Here are some highlights from my last post 2 weeks ago.

Claire trying bananas for the first time...she loves them by the way.  

Going for a walk with Mommy.

Sitting in a high chair for the first time...she was very well behaved.

We let her try some of our water.

She kept trying to lick it out of the glass like a little puppy...it was the cutest.

Shopping with Daddy downtown.

Waiting for the bus.

Her first ever bus ride.

Got to go to her 3rd Flyers game....and try some pizza crust.  She really loved it.  Once she gummed it up so much it started breaking apart we had to take it away...she was not very happy with us.

She has FINALLY started to like tummy time a little more.  She can now roll from her belly to her back and her back to her belly pretty good so she has lots of fun rolling around.

She however does not like peas very much...she made this face every single time she took a spoonful...but yet kept eating them.

She got to hang with her bud Winnie...who snuggled up in front of her when Claire fell asleep...made sure no one woke that little girl up :)

The past 6 months have been the fastest ever.  Happy half birthday sweet little girl!  We love you more than you'll ever know!
