First family vacay

Last week we took Claire on her first vacation to one of our favorite places, Ocean City, NJ.  

We spent Labor Day weekend with the Grenko/Olivard clan and the rest of the week on our own - just Mommy, Daddy, and Claire.  Even though it was pretty rainy and flooding in Philly, it only rained twice in OC.  We really lucked out.  

Saturday morning, we took Claire for her first walk on the boardwalk.  It was gorgeous.  She really loved the boards...she fell asleep every time we took her up.  How can you not with that fresh clean air? 

We bought her this cute new hat to keep the sun out of her eyes...the brim was a tad too big for her tiny little head but it got the job done.  

Big cousins Grace & Maddie really wanted to show Claire the rides so we made our way back up to the boards on Saturday night.  Maddie helped Claire get there.

3.5 weeks is old enough for some rides, right?

Claire of course fell asleep once we were done bugging her for pictures.

We couldn't resist the chance to buy Claire her first little bathing suit....how stinkin cute?

Once we were all dressed we took the little mermaid to the beach for her first time ever.  Of course we didn't last long since she's still so little.  We didn't take any chances, kept her completely covered and only stayed for an hour but it was still a great day.

Daddy gave Claire her first bottle ever.  She took it with no problem at all which was such a relief.  Now daddy can help with those late night feedings ;-)

By Monday night, everyone had gone home except for the three of us.  The entire island was super calm and quiet.  We didn't do much but relax - hung out on the porch, watched some movies, and of course snapped some pics :)

Claire's toesies in the sand for the first time ever.  She didn't seem to mind :)

I was trying my hardest to get the little ladybug to crack a smile the entire week.

She came close but never fully smiled....she usually looks at us like this instead...funny girl.

Tomorrow we take Claire for her one month checkup.  I'll be sure to post afterwards...and whenever she does decide to smile :)
